Surface Piercings and Surface Anchors

Surface piercings are done with a surface bar that sits underneath the skin, with two discs or gems that sit on the skin’s surface. Surface Anchors (sometimes called ‘Mirco-dermals’) are a single point piercing that have an anchor that sits underneath the skin and a gem or a disc that sits on top. There is a wide range of placements for both of these piercings, but high movement areas of the body don’t tend to be suitable. Once the piercing is healed, the gems or discs that sit on the skin’s surface can be changed.
